Chiltern Voice was launched in 2016 and is a non-profit community radio station. Based in Chesham, the project covers the Chilterns - Amersham, Chesham, the Chalfonts, Great Missenden - as well as many more areas across Buckinghamshire. The station is run and presented solely by volunteers and the Jazz, Country and 70’s music can be enjoyed by anyone who tunes in.
The main objective of the station is to help promote local charities in the Chilterns. Businesses support the project through advertising or, in some cases, by sponsoring the station. In this way they also receive promotion: a win-win scenario benefitting both the station and its sponsors. Chiltern Voice also accepts donations and funds from the general public who wish to support these local charities.
DCGS is one of a long line of supporters for this radio station, alongside the Buckinghamshire County Council and the Chiltern District Council.
While Chiltern Voice does have a large number of supporters, it has an even larger number of charities it supports: The Asian Welfare Society, The Chesham Toy Bank, The Theatre Shed, The Chesham Society, The 50 Plus Club, and many, many more. All of the revenue generated by Chiltern Voice goes to charitable causes.
