The Junior House Football competition was an intense and heated contest. Involving over half of each year group across A and B team competitions in Years 7 to 9, the standard of football was remarkably high. There were some fantastic goals scored, including several long-range efforts and some very professional-looking volleys. Following the round-robin style tournament after school for each competition, the winners were decided by finals at lunchtime. Despite the wet and windy conditions, tsupporters for the teams were always present. Victories were shared around, with Pearson and Holman winning two competitions each, Rayner and Thorne winning one each and Foxell being runners-up in three of the six competitions.
Junior House Football is one of the highlights of the House Competition, setting the tone for another fierce year of competition between the houses. Thanks must go to the PE Team for organising the tournaments, as well as several Sixth Form students who helped out with the refereeing. Thank you also to the players and supporters who made this year’s competitions so exciting.Current House Competition Standings
