The Joint Schools Autumn Concert, hosted annually by DCHS, is an excellent platform to showcase the skills of the musicians at DCGS and DCHS. This consisted of solo and group performances from DCHS and the amazing Joint Swing Band. The hall was packed and the audience were eagerly listening to each performance.
The majority of the performing groups were from DCHS, one of which was Second Orchestra, beginning the concert with a bang with The Can-Can. Another great group from DCHS was Wind Band, giving an out of this continent experience with a rendition of Africa.
After a short interval the Junior Choir (consisting of girls from Years 7 and 8) were the real refreshment with Happy. Other groups from the High School were undeniably good, giving fantastic performances that kept the audience enthralled.
The final performers of the evening were Joint Swing Band, comprising of students from both DCGS and DCHS. Their performance was phenomenal and incorporated a staggering seven songs. This included the exciting Caravan - and another that kept the audience In the Mood. Finishing the concert was Copacabana, giving us a final serving of brilliance before the end of the night.
