Governance

Dr Challoner's Grammar School is a Single Academy Trust, governed by a board of trustees who are also company directors and charity trustees. They are responsible for the overall governance and performance of the academy, ensuring compliance with legal and financial requirements. The Trustees set the school’s vision, ethos, and strategic direction, while holding the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team to account for educational outcomes and day-to-day operations. The Governing Board has collective accountability for the trust on behalf of the members, and can delegate operational matters but not overall responsibility. 

The trust is a legal entity and the employer of all members of school staff. The Members of the Academy Trust are responsible for the appointment of governors and ensure strong and effective governance. Information regarding the Academy Trust can be found here.
